Meet Cara
Cara Mattson, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSSLD
Cara Mattson is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed in New York State as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities. She is PROMPT trained and earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language Hearing Sciences and Psychology and her Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Hofstra University.
With over a decade of experience, Cara works with individuals across a wide range of areas including early language development, expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, feeding disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, gestalt language processing, vocal cord dysfunction, resonance disorders and fluency. She also works with children with hearing impairments, cleft palate and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users.
Cara utilizes evidence-based, individualized approaches to support each patient’s unique needs and finds great fulfillment in watching her patients make meaningful progress and gain confidence in their communication skills.
Outside of the office, Cara enjoys running, spending time outdoors and being with family and friends.
