Meet Mary

Mary S. Boghosian, M.A., CCC-SLP/TSHH

Mary is the co-owner and clinical coordinator of South Shore Center for Speech, Language and Swallowing Disorders, bringing over 30 years of experience in speech-language pathology. She earned her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Hofstra University and is a New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and holds permanent certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped.

With extensive experience working across the lifespan, Mary has a strong background in early intervention, language development, articulation, school-based services and family-centered care. She is passionate about helping children and adults build the communication skills they need to succeed at home, in school and in everyday life.

Clinical Expertise & Areas of Focus

Mary has worked with patients across a wide range of speech and language disorders, including expressive and receptive language delays, articulation and phonological disorders, social communication challenges, fluency disorders and developmental speech and language needs. She is especially passionate about working with young children and families during the critical early years of development.

She has extensive experience working within the Early Intervention and CPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) systems and collaborates closely with families, school districts and other professionals to support each child’s individualized needs and long-term success.

Family-Centered Approach

Fluent in Armenian, Mary values building strong relationships with families and creating a supportive, welcoming environment for every patient she works with. She believes communication and collaboration with families are essential to meaningful progress and takes a hands-on, compassionate approach to care.

As clinical coordinator, Mary works closely with patients, families and staff to ensure therapy remains individualized, functional and supportive for every stage of development. She is known for her patience, warmth and dedication to helping each patient build confidence and meaningful communication skills.

Leadership & Clinical Coordination

As co-owner and clinical coordinator of the practice, Mary plays an active role in overseeing clinical care, mentoring staff and helping guide families through the therapy and evaluation process. She is deeply committed to maintaining a warm, supportive and family-oriented environment where patients feel comfortable, understood and encouraged throughout their therapy journey.
