Meet Sophia

Sophia Asofsky, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSSLD

Sophia Asofsky is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified and New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences from Hofstra University.

Sophia works with children from early childhood through school age, supporting a wide range of speech and language needs including expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She also enjoys working with adults, particularly individuals with aphasia, traumatic brain injury and dysarthria.

She is passionate about helping patients build confidence in their communication skills both inside and outside of the therapy setting. Sophia values developing supportive relationships with patients and families and enjoys celebrating each individual’s progress along the way. She believes there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone learn, or relearn, how to express themselves and connect meaningfully with others.

Outside of the office, Sophia enjoys fashion, spending time outdoors, being a sports fan and spending time with family and friends.
